In this week’s episode of FROM, Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno), was acting a bit irrationally, ready to jump through the faraway tree, which is due to her dealing with her grief over her husband Jim (Eion Bailey)’s death according to Moreno, who spoke with SciFi Vision last week. “I think that's part of grieving,” the actress told the site. “That's part of being broken…she needs to feel useful. She needs to find answers.”

“[B]ut I don't think she's a bad mother,” she added. “I think her drive is always thinking about protecting her children, but she's in this pressure cooker of despair and grief, and she just needs answers. And she got answers once, and maybe she wants to find them again...She's doing the best she can in a crazy place like FROM.”

The actress also spoke about whether Tabitha thinks Ethan (Simon Webster) really saw Jim, how she thinks people in the town might react if they find out what her character and Jade (David Alpay) learned, what it was like filming the scene where Tabitha first saw Jim’s body, and more.

SCIFI VISION:   I am as always loving this show and going crazy trying to find out what is next. I love it. So, what I wanted to first ask you is just your own personal opinion on what Tabitha's thinking. Do you think she thinks Ethan really saw Jim when he tells her that? Does she think it's grief? Because she sort of goes with it, because it's helping him. But yeah, she doesn't really comment on that. So, I'm just curious what you think or as how you were playing it, I guess.

CATALINA SANDINO MORENO:   I mean, I think it's part of the place that we're in. I don't think we're at a time where I doubt anything that anyone tells me. I think I've seen with my own eyes how crazy this place can be. And of course, I do believe my child. Maybe Jim is there, maybe not. And who cares? You know, you saw your dad, and you miss him, and I miss him too. So, it could be like a mixture of grief and reality. And he has his mind set on like, “Let's go find the Lake of Tears.” Let's go find the Lake of Tears. There's no agenda in this place. You just go where you have to go and where you feel like going, and it's great.

SCIFI VISION:   If everybody eventually finds out what's going on with her and Jade and all that, do you think they would blame them? Would they expect them to have all the answers? I'm just curious, what do you think she would think?

CATALINA SANDINO MORENO:   I don't think she worries about that at all. Who cares about what people say? Like, you know, she's trying to take - everyone is working for everyone to go home. So, if they're going to judge her, you need to have all the answers. I think that's ridiculous. I don't think [anyone] expects Tabitha to have all the answers, or Jade. I think it is a collective effort, and I think people are doing that this season.

SCIFI VISION:   Talk about her, I guess, internal struggle, though, of what to do. Because in this next episode, obviously, she's trying to go through the tree and thinks it's the best idea. But obviously, Henry and the viewers are kind of looking at it as, why are you willing to take the chance and leave your kids? So, yeah, talk about sort of that struggle of how she pushes or holds back.

CATALINA SANDINO MORENO:   I think that's part of grieving. That's part of being broken. That's part of, like, you know, she needs to feel useful. She needs to find answers. And just a reminder to everyone, you know, going through the tree and going to the tower was not easy peasy for Tabitha. I mean, like, she was in the hospital, all bruised up, banged up. I mean, it must have been painful to go through that window. So, it was not just a walk in the park. “I'm just going to go through this tree, and then I'm going to show up in Maine.” [It’s] not that easy. I think it was a very hard decision for her to leave the children. But if she doesn't do that, if she was the only one that has left town, who's going to do it, you know? And then you just, you confront her, and it's like, she's a bad mother. Yeah, but I don't think she's a bad mother. I think her drive is always thinking about protecting her children, but she's in this pressure cooker of despair and grief, and she just needs answers. And she got answers once, and maybe she wants to find them again. So, for people to be like, “Well, you left your children,” I mean, that's what she had to do. She's doing the best she can in a crazy place like FROM.

SCIFI VISION:   For sure. Talk about filming the scene of finding his body.

CATALINA SANDINO MORENO:   Finding his body. They told me about how he was going to be hanging. They never told me, you know, they never tell me. You know, he's going to look like this. He's going to have that. I didn't want to see him. I just wanted it to be like a shock like it was. Although we shot that scene three times, but every time it's like a shock. It's saying goodbye to your partner, how gruesome and how unfair his death was. He was hanging from a rafter, and it's just so horrible what they did to him. So, it was just shocking. It was shocking acting-wise in the best way possible. But, you know, the other part [was to] say goodbye to Eion. It was heartbreaking. It was sad. I didn't want him to go. Yeah, it was sad.
